Thanks for presenting the story of your very balanced inquiry, and these superpowers' reactions, and some tangible electoral process information i didn't quite understand before. it's like a small sample sized research survey of the spectrum of their reactivity: some jump to the worst judgmental conclusions, some have open, calmer acceptance of other POV's, and some are grays in between. i want to look into more about them--great topic!

Addendum: While researching for my next column, I came across this bit of news from February (see link below), which I don't remember hearing anything about during the primaries. Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton gave lots of money to the Super Delegates, and it seems to have perhaps influenced their votes. Maybe that's why some of them reacted to my email the way they did.

Dear Hope,
Thank you for this, I read the letters from the Super Delegates with real interest. What gets me about the one from the union lady, Anna Burger, in which she says, "You're not a progressive, leave me alone," is that I heard Hillary Clinton describe herself as much more of a progressive than a liberal. So how is it that wanting Hillary on the ticket is not progressive? Knowing that, and reading the little email you got from Anna Burger makes me think the speech that she gave during the Dem convention was rather disingenuous. You must feel good about Hillary being offered the Sec of State job.
